WSM LESHIKA has a staff compliment of 45 with offices in the Polokwane, Mokopane, Pretoria, Potchefstroom, Port Alfred, East London, Volksrust, Bloemfontein and Mbombela. The pool of professional staff provides top class professional services to all valued clients. Most personnel have worked extensively throughout Africa and South Africa providing consulting services for various government departments, non-governmental organisations, municipalities, developers and mining houses.

WSM LESHIKA is a registered company and Mr Sonny Leshika chairs the Board of Directors. Qualified and registered professional engineers and hydrogeologists serve as directors at each national and strategically placed office, as indicated below :

KEY PERSONNEL (PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION)
The key personnel for projects all have significant and relevant experience and are capable of fulfilling their functions and tasks. A brief description of each is given below:
- Sonny S Leshika (CEO & Chairperson)
Sonny is a true businessman who chairs the board of directors at WSM Leshika and is the main shareholder within the firm. He has been tasked to lead the company from up front and also responsible client communications and marketing actions. Long term company strategy and national company expansion is also on his busy portfolio.
- Carel Haupt (Financial Director, Polokwane Office)
Carel Haupt is a registered natural scientist with over 25 years experience. He has a post graduate degree in Engineering Geology who specialises in engineering geological investigations for township developments, the evaluation of ground water potential and geohydrological mapping. He has worked on geological, engineering geological and geohydrological evaluations for river basin studies, aquifer evaluations, ground water inflow predictions for mines, planning and execution of various ground water projects, the design, development and monitoring of a ground water well fields. He is a founder member of WSM Leshika Consulting and has held the position of Chairman of the Ground water Division of the Geological Society of South Africa as well as an exco member of the South African Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists.
- Pierre Mouton (Director, Polokwane Office)
Pierre Mouton is a geologist who has specialized in hydrogeology and is a registered scientist with over 20 years experience and member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists. He is also the founder member of WSM Leshika Consulting. He specializes in interpretation of aerial photographs and satellite imagery, field mapping and hydro census, surface geophysical surveys, down-hole geophysics, drilling supervision, logging, test pumping, aquifer evaluation, water quality evaluation and ground water feasibility studies.
- Daan Truter (Director, Mokopane Office)
Daan Truter is a professional engineer with more than 30 years experience, who also holds an MBL degree. He was responsible for the design and installation of irrigation systems, design and construction of small earth dams, farm structures and bulk water supply planning design and construction. He is also a founder member WSM Leshika Consulting.
- Anna J van Vuuren (Director, Pretoria Office)
Anna van Vuuren has a master’s degree in civil engineering and specialises in hydraulics, hydrology, network analyses, flood studies and civil planning. She has more than 30 years experience and has held a lecturing post at Pretoria University, lecturing Fluid Mechanics and post-graduate courses. She is a founder member of WSM Leshika Consulting and is highly respected in the civil engineering profession.
- Jan Fanoy (Director, Pretoria Office)
Jan Fanoy is a civil engineer specializing in township services with special reference to roads, parking areas, paving and stormwater. Besides his BSc Eng degree, he also obtained a B Com Honours degree specializing in Project Management, Transport and Production Management. He is also a founder member of WSM Leshika Consulting and has over 20 years experience in civil engineering.
- Etienne Mouton (Manager, Eastern Cape - Ndlambe Office)
Etienne is a registered scientist with over 25 years experience in both geological and hydrogeological fields. Etienne has been assigned Office Manager to the Eastern Cape to service the Port Elizabeth - East London - Greater Karoo and former Ciskei - Transkei sub regions. Main tasks include hydrogeological studies, ground water development and management and ground water research.
- Jamie de Jager (Manager, Eastern Cape - Amathole Office)
Jamie has over 20 years experience in project management, research, policy development, implementation and design of projects and programmes. Jamie de Jager is a professional engineer who graduated form the University of Cape Town in 1984 with a B.Sc Civil Engineering degree. Other experiences include : river basin studies, water allocations, stormwater and irrigation canal construction and design, planning and implement of multiple community water and sanitation projects, legislation analysis and its impact and demands on projects and local government.
- Karim Sami (Principal Hydrogeologist - Tshwane Office)
Karim Sami is registered as a geological and hydrological scientist with the South African Council of Natural Scientific Professions. He has a Masters Degree in Hydrology from Trent University in Canada and has 15 years work experience. He specializes in ground water development and has published internationally on ground water exploration, ground water recharge estimation, ground water-surface water interactions, borehole and aquifer test pumping, borehole and aquifer sustainable yield evaluation, ground water geochemistry, saturated and unsaturated zone hydraulics, rural water supply implementation and planning, hydrological modelling, environmental tracers for hydrogeology, acid rock drainage and contamination from mining activities.
- Kobus van Staden (Office Manager Bloemfontein Office)
Kobus van Staden is a professional engineer with 16 years experience in engineering. He specializes in dam design, irrigation, pumping installations, sub-surface drainage and hydrology. He has been teaching irrigation and dam design at the Free State University for 10 years and is a specialist in sub-surface drip irrigation. He graduated from the University op Pretoria with a B.Agric Engineering degree.
- Danny Leshika (Director, Polokwane Office)
An Organisational Developer by profession, Danny Leshika has extensive experience in work-study analysis and capacity building projects, especially managing the implementation process. Danny heads the company’s ISD Division with emphasis on Project Management, Analysis and Implementation Programmes and Community Participation Programmes. He completed his studies in Industrial Psychology and Public Administration with the focus on organisational development and research methodologies as a process for attaining social data necessary in implementing locally relevant decisions, plans and development strategies.
